Heather Smith joined Beacon Legacy Law in June 2024 as an Associate Attorney, bringing with her more than a decade of experience in probate and estate planning. Prior to joining the firm, Heather successfully ran her own law practice for over 10 years, where she focused on helping families navigate complex legal and personal decisions with clarity and confidence.
Heather earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College and her Juris Doctor from the College of William & Mary School of Law. She has been admitted to practice law in Florida since 2002.
Heather works closely with both estate planning and probate clients, combining a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach with genuine compassion. In estate planning, she is known for listening beyond the surface—paying close attention to hesitation or uncertainty to ensure clients feel truly confident in the decisions they make, especially when choosing who will handle their finances or care for their children. Her goal is to create plans that not only work on paper but also feel right for each family.
For probate clients, Heather provides steady, empathetic guidance during what is often one of life’s most difficult times. She understands that grief can make even simple decisions feel overwhelming, and she takes pride in easing that burden—helping clients navigate the legal process step-by-step while minimizing stress and confusion, even in the face of complex family dynamics.
Heather is been actively involved in her community, serving on the Vestry of St. Simon, the Cyrenian Episcopal Church in Fort Pierce. She is also a graduate of Leadership St. Lucie (Class 25) and The Florida Bar Leadership Academy (Class 2).
Outside the office, Heather enjoys reading, traveling with her husband and two sons, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills—despite the occasional heartbreak.
